Pittsburgh-based PPG recently announced it will construct a $17 million aerospace application support center (ASC) in Toulouse, France, near the Toulouse Blagnac Airport.
“The construction of a new ASC will allow us to better serve and collaborate with our aerospace customers in the region,” Dirk Thelen, PPG general manager of aerospace for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said. “The new facility will enhance our ability to provide unparalleled responsiveness and customer support, leading to faster qualification of products and higher participation in new projects, earlier in the development cycle.”
The ASC will include a customer service center, a spray booth for hands-on training, a color blending area for coatings, a development and qualification laboratory for aerospace materials, chemical management resources, a transparencies inspection cell, house filling lines for touch-up kits, and customized packaging capabilities for third-party products.
The facility will be the company’s second ASC in France and its the fifth in the EMEA region. It also is the company’s 17th application support center.
Ground breaking is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022, and PPG expects operations will begin during the fourth quarter of 2023.
PPG operates in more than 75 countries. In 2021, the company reported net sales of $16.8 billion.
