The Kraft Heinz Co. recently released its latest Environmental Social Governance (ESG) report, which includes progress toward the company’s three ESG pillars in 2020 and its 2025 Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (“DI&B”) aspirations.
“Our 2021 ESG Report serves as a testament to our approximately 38,000 global employees who went above and beyond to support our communities and each other during 2020,” Miguel Patricio, Kraft Heinz CEO, said. “We are committed to holding ourselves to a higher standard, stepping up to the plate to boldly address the environmental and societal challenges we face today and those that lie ahead.”
The company’s three ESG pillars are Healthy Living & Community Support, Environmental Stewardship, and Responsible Sourcing. Progress made toward these pillars includes providing more than $40 million in financial and product donations for COVID-19 relief, food insecurity, and social justice causes globally. Additionally, 83 percent of global packaging was made of 100 percent recyclable, reusable, or compostable material, and 66 percent of eggs used by the company were supplied by cage-free or better farms.
The company’s 2025 DI&B Aspirations include increasing the representation of women in management from 37 percent to 50 percent and increasing the number of people of color who are salaried employees from 24 percent to 30 percent.
