The Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) recently updated its PA CareerLink website, which provides job search and training assistance and helps employers find skilled candidates, to increase accessibility.
Updates include links to the search pages for training, apprenticeships, and internships; adult education resources; simplifying the hiring process for job seekers and employers; and access to the Employment, Advancement and Retention Network and benefits through PA Compass.
“L&I is focused on training Pennsylvanian workers for the new economy emerging in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic,” L&I Secretary Jerry Oleksiak said. “To accomplish this, we’re modernizing and upgrading our job search and reskilling programs. We began with redesigning the PA CareerLink website to be more user friendly for users, which is important because even before the pandemic, the job search and application process has moved almost entirely online for most businesses.”
Oleksiak encourages job seekers to take advantage of the website’s free services.
PA CareerLink provides access to multiple services, including on-the-job training programs, career counseling, and adult education classes.
Anyone who wishes to use on-site services is encouraged to contact the local office and set up an appointment. Social distancing and COVID-19 mitigation recommendations are being used to protect customer and staff health and safety.
