Duquesne Light Co. (DLC) recently announced it is hiring qualified troubleshooters and journey lineworkers for its Field Operations team.

“As we expand our workforce, not only in size but also in skill, we’re looking toward the demands of our future so we can provide safe, reliable, affordable and excellent service to our 600,000 customers for many years to come,” Todd Faulk, DLC vice president of Human Resources, said. “If you want to be part of the positive impact we’re having on our communities and are looking to energize your career as a lineworker or troubleshooter, Duquesne Light Co. is the place for you.”

To be considered for the journey lineworker positions, applications must have five or more years of experience in operating, and maintenance work or construction and also must have training in cable work, service installation and meter work.

Lineworkers handle trouble calls about street lighting systems, power distribution, and overhead or underground transmission.

The position will pay between $48.28 an hour and $52.53 an hour. After a 90-day probationary period, new employees will be paid a $7,500 retention bonus.

Interested applicants should apply on the company’s website.

DLC has more than half a million customers in southwestern Pennsylvania and nearly 1,600 employees.
