Hill International, a construction risk management firm based in Philadelphia, announced Thursday that it has been awarded two indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts by the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).
Under the IDIQ contracts, Hill will provide construction management and inspection services on the city’s transit system until 2024. The contracts are split according to their funding, with one being a federally funded contract and the other a state-funded contract.
“We are well equipped to handle the challenges of managing work on New York City’s massive public transportation system,” Hill Vice President George Keeber said. “Our prioritization of safety, experience with public transit agencies around the world, and awareness of the unique qualities of NYC construction projects will help us deliver these and other task orders for MTA on time and under budget.”
Hill professionals will address the contracts through two task orders that focus on station improvements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The first project is focused on the 170th Street Station of the Jerome Avenue Line. Hill will manage construction renovations, which include a new elevator and station stairways improvements.
The second task order requires Hill to provide identical construction management services to the MTA at the Flushing Main Street Station. On the Flushing Line IRT of the New York City Subway, Hill will oversee the facilitation of passenger circulation, including the redesign of the station’s stairways and overall ADA improvements.
