Werner, a manufacturer of ladders, climbing products, and fall protection equipment based in Greenville, Pa., will be holding more than 200 safety training events in support of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s (OSHA) National Safety Stand-Down initiative from May 6-10.
The events will be conducted nationwide and provide more than 17,000 professionals with fall protection training. WernerCo and OSHA representatives will lead the training.
“We’re proud to participate for the fourth year in a row to support OSHA’s safety initiative, helping to raise awareness and education for those professionals working at heights,” Brian Kagen, senior vice president of marketing and product development at WernerCo, said. “By leading hands-on fall protection trainings and discussions across the country, we hope to give professionals the tools they need to stay safe on the jobsite.”
These training will cover ladder inspections, fall protection equipment inspections, harness adjustment training, fall protection tripod training sessions and more. After completing the training, participants will receive a certificate of completion from WernerCo.
Falls from elevations are one of the leading causes of workplace injuries and fatalities. In 2017, falls accounted for 39.2 percent of all construction fatalities.
