Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) recently announced that it would construct an 880,000-square-foot customer fulfillment center at the Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park in White Township in Indiana County.
The company plans to begin construction of the $30 million-facility next month. The project will create approximately 600 construction jobs. The company expects the facility to open in October 2019.
Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana County), Sen. Don White (R-41st District), Pennsylvania Labor and Industry Secretary Jerry Oleksiak, Indiana County commissioners, and other local officials joined URBN last week to announce the project.
“Urban Outfitters’ move to Indiana County will significantly impact our region’s economy. In addition to the hundreds of full-time, family-sustaining jobs at the customer fulfillment center, there will be hundreds of construction jobs as the facility is built,” Reed said. “This announcement would not have been possible without the efforts of many, including Gov. Tom Wolf and his administration, who helped pave the way for this Urban Outfitters opportunity.”
