GEODIS, a global supply-chain operator, recently announced it would be opening its third distribution center in Carlisle and its sixth in Central Pennsylvania.

GEODIS will lease a 575,000 square-foot facility that will distribute products for Bath & Body Works’ e-commerce sales on the East Coast. The center will contain four miles of conveyor technology and a cutting-edge “each pick” system.

The center is expected to create more than 225 new full-time and part-time jobs and 800 seasonal positions.

The 20,000 square-foot employee break room will include an “open-market” vending service, free Wi-Fi, four big screen TVs, and a lounge area with various games like ping-pong, air hockey, and a foosball table.

“We pride ourselves on being an employer of choice,” Rusty Taylor, GEODIS senior director of operations, said. “Our employees not only have an environment where they can accelerate their career, but we always like to mix in some fun into our work as well.”

The company hosts job fairs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Jobs available at the center include human resources, clerical, managerial, maintenance, warehouse, operations, and safety.

Hiring began in April and will continue through early July when the first shipment date is scheduled.
