Pittsburgh-based Esmark Inc., announced Oct. 3 the appointment of a new chief executive officer at its wholly owned subsidiary Esmark Steel Group.
Jack Biegalski, the new CEO at Esmark Steel Group in Chicago, started his position Oct. 1, and reports to Esmark Inc. founder and Executive Chairman James Bouchard.
“We are very excited to welcome Jack to the Esmark family to lead our steel group,” said Bouchard. “He brings a wealth of steel and producer industry experience to the team, and I know he will make an immediate impact on our organization, our customers, and our partners.”
Biegalski succeeds Roberto Alvarez, who has been appointed CEO of Esmark International. Alvarez, along with Biegalski; Dave Luptak, CEO of Ohio Coatings Company-Tin Operations; and Randy Stanton, acting president and CFO of Esmark Inc., also will report to Bouchard.
“I am very grateful to Roberto for running Esmark Steel Group successfully for many years,” Bouchard said. “Focusing all of his time now on our international business and our growth into new markets is the perfect next role for him.”
Biegalski, who earned an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, brings nearly four decades of steel industry experience to the Esmark Steel Group. He most recently served as president and chief operating officer of American Heavy Plates.
