Texas-based Thompson Safety, a fire protection and safety services company, recently purchased Philadelphia-based Kartman Fire, a fire and life safety provider.

“Kartman Fire has been a trusted name in fire protection and security in Philadelphia for more than four decades,” Tommy Thompson, Thompson Safety founder and CEO, said. “We are thrilled to welcome their talented team to Thompson Safety. This acquisition strengthens our fire protection division and opens an exciting new market for us in Pennsylvania. Together, we will continue delivering exceptional service while giving customers access to both fire protection and safety solutions.”

The purchase allows Thompson Safety to enter the Philadelphia market and is part of its strategy to expand its geographic footprint. It also adds new full-service fire protection products to the company’s portfolio, including fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, exit lighting, backflow, and monitoring services, and creates new opportunities for cross-selling between fire protection, first aid and safety customers.

“This partnership allows us to provide our customers with even greater resources and service offerings while continuing the legacy of care and technical excellence we’ve built over the last 40 years,” Jonathan Kartman, Kartman Fire CEO, said.

Thompson Safety has locations in 23 markets nationwide. It provides on-site first aid and fire protection services.
