Minaris Advanced Therapies names new CEO

Philadelphia-based Minaris Advanced Therapies, a development and manufacturing organization and contract testing provider focused exclusively on cell and gene therapies, recently appointed Dr. Orla Cloak as CEO.

“On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Orla to Minaris Advanced Therapies,” Iain Baird, Minaris Advanced Therapies chairman of the board, said. “Her leadership will be instrumental to achieving our mission of supporting customers to successfully commercialize their innovative therapies.”

Cloak has more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience in the pharmaceuticals and life science industries and has experience in strategic leadership, sustainable business growth, operational excellence, and driving innovation.

She has held several leadership positions over the past 17 years at Swiss-based Lonza, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Most recently she was senior vice president and Lonza Bioscience business head.

“I look forward to working with the talented team here to build on the company’s strong foundations and drive its next phase of growth,” Cloak said.

Minaris Advanced Therapies, a portfolio company of New York-based Altaris, an investment firm focused on the health care industry, has more than 650,000 square feet of infrastructure in the United States, Europe and Asia. The company’s global network supports therapy developers through early-stage development, clinical trials and commercial manufacturing.
