Cranberry Township-based Giant Eagle, one of the largest food retailer and distributor in the United States, recently completed the sale of its GetGo business to Canada-based Alimentation Couche-Tard, a convenience store chain.

The sale included approximately 270 GetGo and WetGo locations. Selling GetGo allows Giant Eagle to focus on growing its supermarket and pharmacy businesses.

“The sale of the GetGo business marks an important moment in Giant Eagle’s history,” Bill Artman, Giant Eagle president and CEO, said. “It is both a catalyst for investment into the communities we have served for more than 90 years and an assurance that one of the most valuable savings opportunities we provide to customers – our myPerks loyalty program – will remain with earning and redemption options at both Giant Eagle and GetGo.”

Giant Eagle and Couche-Tard will partner to maintain and expand the myPerks loyalty program. Customers will continue to earn and redeem rewards at Giant Eagle and GetGo locations. Customers who are enrolled in the myPerks Pay Direct and AdvantagePAY programs also will
continue have GetGo fuel discounts.

myPerks loyalty card holders will receive a free self-serve beverage on July 19 and July 20 and will be awarded three times the perks for every gallon of fuel purchased.
