
Pittsburgh-based Kennametal, a materials science, tooling and wear-resistant solutions company, recently elected Douglas Dietrich, Minerals Technologies executive chairman and CEO, to its board of directors.
“Doug brings over 30 years of business and industry experience, most recently driving transformative change at Minerals Technologies through his strategic, operational and financial leadership,” Sanjay Chowbey, Kennametal president and CEO, said. “We’re excited to welcome him to our board and confident that his expertise and global perspective will be key to advancing our strategy and enhancing shareholder value.”
Dietrich has more than 30 years experience in the industrial goods, mining and metals manufacturing sectors and has engineering, management and operations expertise. He has been specialty minerals company Minerals Technologies’ CEO since December 2016 and was elected chairman of the board in March 2021.
Dietrich joined Minerals Technologies in 2007 and held many key management positions including corporate development and treasury vice president, and chief financial officer. He also held multiple leadership positions at Alcoa.
He began his career working various positions in engineering and operations management at Eaton Corp. and Westinghouse Electric Co.
Kennametal employs approximately 8,400 people and generated $2 billion in revenue during fiscal 2024. It serves customers in nearly 100 countries.
