Kopter, a Swiss-based aviation company, recently awarded Berwyn-based TRIUMPH Group’s French Actuation Products & Services business a development contract.

Under the contract, the Kopter AW09 main and tail rotor control cables will be manufactured using TRIUMPH’s industry leading flexball cable design.

Kopter is developing the AW09, a single-turbine helicopter designed for demanding environments. It is designed to have class performance, the largest cabin and cargo volumes, outstanding modularity, and modern systems.

“As manufacturer of the only flexball control cable designed, qualified, and certified for helicopter flight controls, we are excited to collaborate with Kopter to deliver a precision, flexible, low maintenance system for the AW09 helicopter,” Mike Boland, TRIUMPH Actuation Products & Services president, said.
