Buckeye Partners, L.P. announced Thursday that it had opened a new office in Allentown.

The new 75,000 square foot office building will house a state-of-the-art control center for Buckeye’s regional operations and its approximately 300 area employees and contractors.

“Buckeye has been an important part of the Lehigh Valley community for 70 years,” Bob Malecky, president, Pipeline and Terminal business unit, said. “This move reaffirms our strong commitment to remaining active in the region and to safely providing critical energy products to the surrounding communities and the broader region. We take our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen seriously, and our employees are excited to continue to play a role in the community through our new office complex.”

Buckeye, a wholly owned investment of the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, owns and operates a global network of assets that provides liquid petroleum product logistics solutions including nearly 6,000 miles of domestic pipeline, more than 115 liquid petroleum products terminals and 127 million barrels of tank capacity. The company agreed to a 15-year lease for the Lower Macungie Township regional office — a four-story office building developed by Jaindl Land Company.

“We were pleased to partner with Buckeye on this important project, which utilizes cutting-edge energy efficiency designs, as the company charts its next chapter in the Lehigh Valley after so many years in the region,” Adam Jaindl, vice president of the Jaindl Land Company, said. “Like Buckeye, we’re very proud to operate in this community.”

The new office’s state-of-the-art engineering design enables Buckeye to reduce its energy use and reduce its overall environmental footprint consistent with the company’s focus on environmental, social and corporate governance performance, and the company’s efforts to contribute to a lower carbon future.
