Cleveland company opening facility in Harrisburg

Cleveland-based GE Current, an advanced lighting and intelligent controls company, recently opened a new distribution center near Harrisburg.

The company will use the distribution center to provide same-day and next-day service to more customers and for will-call service for electric distributors and contractors.

The 150,000-square-foot facility, located in Lemoyne, stocks Current’s portfolio of products and will be fully operational over the next few weeks.

“Our new Harrisburg distribution center will help Current meet the needs of our customers and partners in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic quickly and efficiently,” Chip Taylor, GE Current Chief Commercial Officer, said. “We’re excited to strengthen ties within the region and better serve our local customers.”

Last year, the company also opened a similar stocking facility in Atlanta.

GE Current produces lighting for greenhouses, cities, commercial and industrial facilities, and other specialty applications. It manufactures indoor and outdoor fixtures, controls and sensors, LED lamps and modules, refrigerated displays, and signage, and has distributors in the United States and Canada.

In April, GE Current purchased Forum, a Pittsburgh-based architectural linear luminaire company, for an undisclosed amount. The purchase expands Current’s architectural portfolio and customization capabilities.
