Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR), a company providing electronic recycling service portfolios, recently opened a facility in Allentown.

The 30,000-square-foot facility is one of the company’s largest R2 certified facilities. Responsible Recycling (R2) certification means a company has policies for managing used and end-of-life electronics equipment, components, and materials based on strategies such as reuse, materials, and energy recovery and/or disposal.

Allentown was selected because it is convenient to clients in Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York City, and Washington, D.C. It also will help the company provide convenient and expedient service to its national customers.

“With this new site, we bring an expansive portfolio of certified ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) and electronics recycling services to both the Lehigh Valley and the expanding markets of the Northeast,” the company said in a statement. “ATR will be the first company in the region to offer U.S. State Department authorized ITAR (International Traffic and Arms Regulations) compliant destruction programs and, GSA (General Service Administration) approved pricing discounts for all levels of governmental agencies that seek responsible and sustainable recycling and ITAD services.”

Founded in 2002, ATR has eight locations nationwide. It is a Certified Woman Owned business that works with business-to-business customers seeking compliant ITAM/ITAD solutions.
