Legislation recently introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives would strengthen the nation’s medical supply chains and increase the production of medicines and health care supplies in the United States and Allied nations.
The Enhancing the Security of the U.S. Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Act of 2020 will incentivize the domestic manufacture of medicines.
The bill results from Congress’s China Task Force final report that included more than 400 realistic and achievable solutions to counter the growing threat posed by China.
“As the only doctor serving on the China Task Force, I am proud to lead our work to develop realistic and achievable solutions to protect American patients from the growing influence of the Chinese communist government,” U.S. Rep.
