AmerisourceBergen receives B rating regarding climate change

AmerisourceBergen, a pharmaceutical products company based in Valley Forge, recently received a B grade from the 2020 CDP Climate Change Disclosure.

CDP is a nonprofit charity that assesses companies on best practices associated with environmental leadership, awareness and management of environmental risks, and the comprehensiveness of their disclosures.

CDP ranks companies on a scale of A to D-. The annual assessments are considered the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.

AmerisourceBergen scored well in the emission reduction initiatives, 1 & 2 emissions, and business impact and financial planning categories.

“AmerisourceBergen is taking bold steps to be environmentally aware and address climate change issues while giving the company the tools we need to become better stewards for our business and the planet,” said Gina Clark, AmerisourceBergen chief communication and administration officer. “Our CDP performance is a clear demonstration of the hard work and commitment across our organization and within each of our associates to live our purpose and create healthier futures for all,”

AmerisourceBergen recently began to focus on climate adaption strategies, including those that address the risks to physical assets and social impacts.

The company previously worked to deploy efficiency measures, including minimizing waste and maximizing recycling, managing greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring transportation and energy efficiency.
