Cleveland-based Everstream, a fiber network company servicing Midwest businesses, is expanding into Pennsylvania after purchasing existing Uniti customers.

The company provides Ethernet, internet access, dark fiber, and data center solutions.

The deal includes customers in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and more than 10 other cities, includes a mix of metro fiber and long-haul fiber, and fiber-based Ethernet and internet services capable of speeds up to 100 gigabits per second.

Everstream will open local offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and Uniti customers will be connected to cities across the Midwest, including Chicago.

The company has more than 15,000 route miles of fiber, and this will add more than 5,600 route miles.

“Everstream’s acquisition of the Uniti network assets in Pennsylvania provides reach into new markets, from which we will continue to densify the network,” Everstream President and CEO Brett Lindsey said. “The network spans the state, and these markets will now experience Everstream’s unrivaled commitment to customer service and the unique way in which we deliver services.”

AMP Capital Global Infrastructure, the majority owner of Everstream, funded the purchase.

Earlier this year, Everstream invested $300 million to build new infrastructure. In the past year, the company completed two acquisitions, opened five offices, and added more than 130 employees.
